3rd September 2018

Dec 13, 2018  I bought Omnisphere and i have installed it but every time i click on a sound it says 'cannot load soundsource '(name)' in directory 'core library'. Try refreshing index in browser.' I cant work out how to 'refresh index in browser' if anybody knows?

Lives for gear
  1. Why is Omnisphere is not appearing in my host after updating to 2.6? Trilian Sounds in Omnisphere; Omnisphere 2 Diagnostics; Errors when loading patches; Crash Log (Windows) Presets, Tags, or Ratings Don't Save? Error: Cannot open Multi./default.mltomn? Problems Installing Patch or Soundsource Updates; Can't Find STEAM Folder in OSX 10.7 (or.
  2. Re: Omnisphere can't find sound sources: Post by mazz » Sun May 20, 2012 7:00 pm Spectrasonics has a procedure for putting the 'STEAM' folder on another drive which involves creating an alias for it and putting that alias in a certain folder in one of the Library/Application Support folders (top level or user level, can't remember).
  3. Mar 04, 2010 when i use spectrasonics omnisphere and load certain patches it says: cannot load soundsource (patch) from directory: core library. File (patch).zmap may be missing or corrupted. Try refreshing the soundsource browser. I have installed the patches and fixes i need. Also, some patches do load but won't produce a sound. Im using fl studio 6. So can some1 please help me with this problem.
  4. The data files for Omnisphere are stored in your STEAM folder. When you update your patches or soundsources, you are updating files in your STEAM folder, which was created when you originally installed Omnisphere. Your STEAM folder is located inside your Spectrasonics folder. See the instructions below to find your Spectrasonics folder.
  5. Keyscape 'Cannot load SoundSource 'example LA Custom C7 Release' in Directory 'Keyscape Library'. Try refreshing Index in Browser. I have Omnisphere for a long time now, so i decided to download keyscape as well.
  6. Sep 17, 2015  Omnisphere Installation Problem (Fix for everybody?). Can not load soundsource '.' In directory 'Core Library'. Try refreshing the index browser. Now, I have tried everything. After one reinstall, I got an issue that involved a.zmap, and I have no idea what that is or what happened to that. Can not load soundsource '.' In directory.

Dear All,
I have the 4 amazing plugins from Spectrasonics all updated to the latest versions.
Also note that my Steam folder size on an iMac Pro running High Sierra 10.13.3 is equal to 175.72 GB
Breakdown is:
Keyscape: 77.49 GB
Omnisphere: 62.58 GB (Bob Moog included)
Trilian: 35.64 GB
I am receiving a lot of errors eventhough I installed and re installed and re installed more than three times the software for 2 days !! I have the Keyscape USB Drives (A and B) which I constantly re installed, then UPDATED the Keyscape software, then Soundsource, then Patches, THEN Authorized it as per your instructions.
As for Omnisphere, it was running fine until I updated it to the latest 2.5 version along with the soundsources and patches.
I started receiving the following errors:
Cannot load SoundSource 'PHR - Yang Ching 07' from Directory 'Core Library'. File PHR - Yang Ching 07.zmap may be missing or corrupted. Try refreshing the SoundSource Browser.
The error above is on Omnisphere, I had my STEAM folder backed up before updating to 2.5 and it's when I updated to 2.5 on both my iMac pro and Laptop Macbook Pro that I started having this specific error
Now for Keyscape, I am having the following error:
Need to authorize product before using: ../LA Custom Rhodes Release Combo/AudioFiles/RR02 lacr 81 49 relm.wav
On a lot of the patches available on both omnisphere and Keyscape running Keyscape library.
I tried re installing as I said more than three times from my DISKS and by the way, every installation took around 8 hours to finish on a super fast iMac Pro ... is that normal ???
I am really very frustrated.
I sent an email to the support team and I hope they can resolve my issue.
Kindly advise.
Best regards,

ProgramData is normally a hidden file. To 'Show Hidden Files' go to Start Menu/Control Pane/Appearance And Personalization/Folder Options/View tab. Select the 'Show Hidden Files and Folders' option and hit 'Apply'

On Windows XP, the Spectrasonics folder is located here:

The data files for Omnisphere are stored in your STEAM folder. When you update your patches or soundsources, you are updating files in your STEAM folder, which was created when you originally installed Omnisphere. Your STEAM folder is located inside your Spectrasonics folder. See the instructions below to find your Spectrasonics folder. Inside your Spectrasonics folder you'll find STEAM, which may be the STEAM folder, or it may be an alias (Mac) or Shortcut (Window) to the STEAM folder.

On Mac, the Spectrasonics folder is located here:

Macintosh HD/Users/<Your Username>/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics

From Mac OS X 10.7 and higher, Apple have made the User - Library folder a hidden folder by default. This is to stop general Mac users fiddling with settings, however, music makers will require using this folder from time to time.

Please see the handy article below on how to unhide your User Library folder in Mac OS X 10.7 or higher

On Windows Vista and Windows 7, the Spectrasonics folder is located here:

C:ProgramDataSpectrasonics

Storing sound files on a secondary drive

If you are wanting to store your Omnisphere audio files on a second hard drive, you can put the Spectrasonics/STEAM folder onto your second drive. You will then need to create an alias or 'short cut' to this location on your main Mac or Windows drive. You can create an alias (Mac) or a short cut (Windows) by right-clicking (ctrl+click for Mac users) the STEAM folder and selecting it from the menu.

Once you have done this, you will then need to either locate or create the following folder on your main drive:

On Mac, the Spectrasonics folder needs to be created here:

Macintosh HD/Users/<Your Username>/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics

On Windows Vista and Windows 7, the Spectrasonics folder needs to be located here:

Load

C:ProgramDataSpectrasonics

On Windows XP, the Spectrasonics folder needs to be created here:
C:Documents And SettingsAll UsersApplication DataSpectrasonics

You will then need to move the STEAM alias folder (or the STEAM short cut folder) into the Spectrasonics folder on your main drive.

Cannot Load Soundsource From Directory Core Library Omnisphere 2 1

Note: On Mac, once you have placed the 'STEAM alias' folder on your main drive, you will need to rename it removing the word alias from the file, otherwise it will not work. You should now have a 'STEAM' folder on your main drive that is pointing to its actual location on your second drive.
Now when you close and re-launch your host application, Omnisphere should be pulling the audio files from off of the second hard drive.
